1971 Citroen D Special, ID 19 series B. It is not currently in running or driving condition because it has been sitting for several years. We put a new battery in her, put gas in the carburetor and she started right up. We have owned the car for 20 years. It was a daily driver for several years. It was running and driving great when we parked her about 6 years ago. After several years of sitting I discovered that gas was not getting up to the carb. I put a new fuel pump on her and she still wouldn’t start. We believe the fuel tank, and/or the lines are clogged and need to be cleaned or replaced. When we put gas in the carb and started her, she only ran for a few moments, not long enough for the hydraulics to raise up. The vehicle has a clean title and we just updated the tags. The interior is in near perfect condition. She was a daily driver and very dependable when we parked her years back. She needs a new set of tires and will need some brake maintenance soon. If you know these vehicles, you will notice that the previous owner made a couple custom changes to this one. The rear fenders have been modified with fender wells and the rear turn signals were removed and moved down next to the tail lights for a more exotic look. They also welded threaded rods over the holes in the wheels so they could add on the hubcap/wheel covers you see in the photos. Those can be replaced with new covers available anywhere. His vehicle has a munual tramsmission with a 3 on the tree shifter. Very comfortable and fun to drive. The “Citroen red” paint is not original and is faded and oxidized from sitting outside for years. We were told this is a California car so there is little or no rust. The body is straight with no dents. The odometer shows around 19632 miles, but is not working, so we do not know the exact or correct mileage on the car.
