This 1971 Oldsmobile 442 convertible tribute was custom built by Hendrick Performance and has been completely upgraded with today’s best high-performance components resulting in one amazing modern muscle car. A proven all-aluminum GM LS3 V8, with camshaft upgrade, was installed pushing the horsepower on this gorgeous drop-top to over 450. All of this muscle is transferred to the pavement via the computer controlled 4L65E four-speed automatic transmission and bullet-proof Currie Ford 9 rear axle. The sweet engine sound is transmitted by the Spin Tech mufflers and an aluminized dual exhaust system. The suspension on the Olds is courtesy of Detroit Speed and Engineering that includes upper and lower control arms, spindles, anti-roll bars, Koni shocks and a four-link rear suspension – all re-engineered for optimum performance. The convertible is brought to a halt via the Baer four-piston front/two piston rear caliper power braking system in conjunction with the sticky Michelin Pilot Sport tires mounted on custom 17 billet Oldsmobile Rally wheels. On the interior custom white leather bucket seats are found with a factory console in between and Hurst shifter. Other upgrades inside the cabin include a Vintage Air conditioning system, Kenwood CD stereo system and modern gauges just to name a few.
