Silver 1978 Chevrolet Corvette, T Tops, 350 CID V8 Automatic
This is it, if you’re looking for a Silver Anniversary Edition Corvette in immaculate condition with fewer than 12,000 original miles.
Sold in January1978 to its first owner, this Corvette remained with its original owner until February 1980, at which time it was sold to the second owner who kept it until1996. Garaged since it belonged to the original owner, this car has a little more than 11,000 actual miles.
Fourteen years ago, with approximately 7500miles of use, several mechanical items were replaced and/or upgraded at a cost of about $4,000. The service was performed due to the age of the car – not because of damage or wear. New radiator, exhaust, stainless brakes, tires, etc.Excellently maintained, vehicle file includes service records over the past 20years.
Original owner’s manual included, along with a copy (Allied Vaughn) of the car’s factory-to-dealer invoice. Note that in the photographs this car has front and rear spoilers, which are not identified on the dealer invoice. They were probably added at the dealership before the original owner took possession, but I have been unable to confirm.
The only items not in working condition are the power antenna for the radio and the clock in the dash console. The power antenna stopped working a short while ago and might be due to a bad fuse.
Among the original features: power windows, 25th Anniversary paint, rear defogger,AC, sport mirrors, cruise-master speed control, AT, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, AM/FM with cassette player, aluminum wheels, and oyster leather bucket seats.
This Corvette is ready for a new owner to drive it home.
